PiscesPisces: Divinatory Meaning

As last sign of the Zodiac, Pisces is ready to retreat from the world. The two fish represent the Personality and the Soul. Either the Personality is captured by the Soul or the Soul is made captive by the Personality, bringing suffering to the native.

Extremely sensitive, these natives’ emotions run strong and deep. Pisceans tend to withdraw into a dream world where their qualities can bring mental satisfaction and sometimes. They pick up on vibrations around them and it is important to surround them with only positive things and people (important to remember if you have Pisces children). Outside negativity can get so threatening, the unevolved with turn to drugs and/or alcohol. This exposes them even more to negative forces and possessions are possible.

Pisceans need "alone time" and this also gives them a chance to recharge their batteries. They need to get away from the chaos of the world, to connect with their true spiritual being. An Inferiority complex can dog them because their feelings can be easily hurt and this may be taken personally. The world is a very harsh place to them, but they need to stop reacting sensually to life. The way out is to become of service to others: Serve or Suffer.

Artistically, they shine. Their sensitivity can produce the most sublime of music, literature, and art. Even when they cannot express themselves creatively, they have a greater than average instinct for, and love of, beauty in art and nature. Though, only a spiritual orientation will bring peace. When they are true to their nature, they are the compassionate servants of mankind.

The medical fields are also of interest and you will find pronounced Pisces, Neptune, or 12th House in many charts of doctors, nurses, and those who serve humanity.

Medically Speaking

Pisces rules the feet, toes, the lymphatic system, and the spleen in its lymphatic role in the physical body. Also, the left eye of the male and right eye of the female. Being ruled by Neptune, the body is very sensitive to drugs. It is common that a Pisces needs less of a dosage than other signs. Neptune also can make ailments hard to diagnose.

Kabbalistic Connection

Pisces completes the astrological cycle that begins with Aries. It is Central Column of the water signs, and is controlled by two planets, Jupiter and Neptune.

Jupiter controls two signs: Pisces and Sagittarius. These two months, Adar and Kislev, are characterized by the tremendous miracles that took place because of the energy of Jupiter. Sagittarius marks the miracles of Chanukah. Adar coined the miracle of Purim, created by Esther, Mordechai, and the unity between the Jews in Shushan, Persia. This “togetherness” and mass effort of unconditional sharing caused the miracle that prevented the total extermination of the Jews in Persia, under Achashverosh’s rule.

The Planet Neptune

Transcendence

Planet NeptuneThe first recorded sighting was by Galileo, who witnessed its conjunction with Jupiter in 1612, but he thought this new object was a moon of Jupiter.

NEPTUNE was discovered in 1846. It has been found to represent non-material influences like dreams and illusions. It brings dissolution of structures and represents idealistic drives – both on a social and a spiritual level. Neptune opens the door to the divine, leaving a residual discontentment about mundane existence. As Neptune takes 165 years to go around the Sun, this planet will be in any one sign for a period of about 14 years. Its influence is therefore experienced most strongly as long-term collective changes. Neptune’s sign position shows the collective need to transcend everyday life through the media, films and visionary ideals. The House position of Neptune shows where specifically you will feel the need to transcend. This House area will show where dreams are built up and dissolve and in what area of life you gain spiritual understanding through acceptance of the transience of all things. Neptune show personality traits which are strongly affected by dreams and idealism. These aspects indicate where you have unrealistic expectations and where you will experience disappointment until you refine your nature through spiritual insight.

The dreamy, deceptive, illusionary and imaginative, escapist side of human nature. It is a model for feelings that are intangible, romantic, magical and mystical, altruistic and unconditionally loving; but it can also be expressed in feelings of being victimised, living in a world of unreality, avoiding facts and embracing fantasy. It gives us the capacity to role-play, to create illusions, to express its energy through music, art, spirituality and imagination. This planet empowers us to shifts in consciousness, to express ideals and visions, and is a ‘generational’ model, staying for 14 years in one sign. All that is self-deceptive and deceptive towards others is connected with Neptune. It can bring escapist tendencies, trigger addictive behaviour and emotional hyper-sensitivity. It enables one to cope or change by transcending life’s difficulties, enabling a subtle acceptance that we do not always get what we think we deserve, and imbues us with faith that we have a higher purpose in life and will attain it by maintaining faith. It brings religious fervour, a belief in a higher power and is often prominent in those who have mediumistic or clairvoyant tendencies.

Neptune is known as the planet of illusion. It stands for equality and the interests of collective society. It represents utopian social movements whose goal is to fairly distribute the world’s resources. It symbolizes compassion, kindness, and the humanitarian concern. It rules hospitals, prisons, and bureaucracies. More than any other planet, its movements represent the destiny and consciousness of humanity as a whole. It is the symbol of everything intangible, mystical, imaginative, and subtle. It is life unrestricted by ordinary limits and boundaries.

Neptune also leads us into confusion, delusion and deception. It is the desire to escape from responsibility and to cleverly avoid facing reality. When fully expressed, Neptune is the beatific vision of universal, divine love and compassion for all beings. It is connected to the sign of Pisces and to the Twelfth House.

Neptune is the planet of transcendence, higher faculties and psychic abilities. In a natal chart, the aspects and position of Neptune deal with the subject’s ability to access higher consciousness and their grip on reality. A heavily afflicted Neptune can lead to unrealistic expectations and self-deception.

Influences, creativity, fantasia, daydreams, escapism, alcohol, drugs, and illusions. It represents, inspiration, psychometry, inner spiritual feelings, prophecy, chaos, con-artists, confidentiality, confusion, delusions, elusive, emotional, glamour, gullible, hypochondria, impostors, lethargy, music, nightmares, perverted, puzzles, subversion, apprehension, visions, witchcraft.

Neptune takes approximately 165 years to cycle the 12 signs of the zodiac, about 1 to 2 degrees a year.

MYTHOLOGY:

Poseidon was the god of the sea in Greek mythology.

The son of Cronus and Rhea, and the brother of Zeus and Hades. Poseidon and the Gorgon Medusa were the parents of Pegasus, the famous winged horse.

Poseidon is represented as a bearded and majestic figure, holding a trident and often accompanied by a dolphin. Every two years the Isthmian Games, featuring horse and chariot racers, were held in his honor at Corinth.

The Romans identified Poseidon with their god of the sea, Neptune whose festival was in July. Poseidon was commonly called the earth shaker and the earth encircler in The Iliad and The Odyssey of Homer.

Neptune glyph The symbol for Neptune has evolved into a depiction of the trident representing the rulership of the oceans. Its symbol can be taken as an upward extension of the cross of matter shielded by a crescent of receptivity, although based on the trident of Neptune.

IN THE CHART

As Neptune takes 165 years to go around the Sun, this planet will be in any one sign for a period of about 14 years. Its influence is therefore experienced most strongly as long-term collective changes. Neptune ‘s sign position shows the collective need to transcend from the everyday life through the media, films and visionary ideals and has been found to represent non-material influences like dreams and illusions. It brings dissolution of structures and represents idealistic drives – both on a social and a spiritual level. Neptune opens the door to the divine, leaving residual discontent about mundane existence.

The first sign of a Neptune contact is a sense of loss, despair, hopelessness, or confusion. Many people instinctively use this as a time to travel, a time to live on the surface of cultures, to escape from their own world and drift through someone else’s. For others, there can be times of indecision instead of decisiveness, confusion and dreams instead of clarity and logic. This may or may not be a difficult experience.

How Neptune will manifest its energy will depends on the horoscope as a whole. The Sign (and its Element), the House in which it falls, and the Aspects to the other planets will all have a bearing on any interpretation.

On a personal level Neptune shows where specifically you will feel the need to transcend, where dreams are built up and dissolve and in what area of life you gain spiritual understanding through acceptance of the transience of all things.

The dream world can become more vivid and intuition is highly tuned. This is a time when the boundaries of Saturn are once again challenged, not by the frontal attack of Uranus but rather by slow erosion. The structure crumbles—not because of weakness but because of a massive failure of the foundation.

Methods of coping (Saturn) no longer work, people are Usually faced, in this time, with inactivity. They can take no action to solve their problem, they must wait for the problem to dissolve. Neptune’s action is considered to be that of loosening, dissolving boundaries, expanding and distorting and it represents Intuition, Idealism, Self-sacrifice, Glamour, Illusion and Decay.

MEDICAL NEPTUNE

Neptune takes approximately 164 years to orbit the zodiac, taking about 13 years in each sign. Its position is a kind of cultural expression manifesting itself with imaginative and creative faculties of a generation. Its location points to a common spiritual destiny shown by the sign that it occupies. As one gets older, new generations may then seem strange in style, cultural or artistic expression, something not innately understood by the native.

People with an afflicted Neptune should always be on guard for deception, trickery, and fraud. Since each one’s life is the outcome of former living, afflictions of Neptune offer ready channels where enemies from past lives or evil spirits can gain entry into our sacred temple. Forewarned is forearmed and confrontations can be stepping stones upward in life, or misery leading to drug abuse and apathy. Afflictions to Neptune may also indicate a previous life of extreme asceticism where the physical body was ignored or neglected leading to a leaky aura in this life. The corroborating symptoms are tiredness and need for a lot of sleep. There is also susceptibility to tuberculosis as Neptune is the ruler of this disease. Sunlight counteracts the tubercular diathesis and helps to harden and anneal an etheric body with a leaky aura. Likewise, a favorably aspected Neptune may let one drone away one’s time, neglecting valuable opportunities offered for soul growth by following the deceptive lines of least resistance. Neptune rules illusion and abstract thinking, as well as those areas of life where conditions are not always what they seem.

PATHOLOGICAL TENDENCIES: Neptune’s placement in the natal chart points to conditions which are difficult to diagnose, or are wrongly diagnosed. It has rulership over the aura and etheric body. Its afflictions denote laxity and weakness of the vital force, and subnormal conditions, as lack of development, undersized body or organs. Its placement in the chart and hard aspects has a strong rule over wasting of tissues leading to decay and disintegration. Its pathological manifestations are lethargy, drug abuse, intoxication, and general lack of tone throughout the body.

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY: Pineal gland, appendix, right-brain function.

The Planet Jupiter

posted by admin

JupiterAs first of the outer planets, JUPITER is the planet of expansion, exploration, growth, and cooperation. In a natal chart, the aspects and position of Jupiter indicate how subjects are able to expand their horizons, set their own ethical and moral limits, and how they fit into and contribute to society. It stands for wisdom, the higher mind, prophecy, organized religions, universities, law, ceremonies, and rituals. It establishes far-ranging connections between people and ideas. It is the planet of abundance, prosperity, generosity, joviality, fortune, optimism, finance, and world commerce, but it tends to excess, over-confidence, self-righteousness, and complaisance. Jupiter rules the, blood, liver, arteries, thighs, neck, weight problems, diabetes, catarrh, auto-intoxication, biliousness, colostral.

It takes approximately 12 years for Jupiter to transit the chart (up to 30 degrees / year or one sign per year).

From the operations of Jupiter, they made for prolongation of life, an Image, in the hour of Jupiter, Jupiter being in his exaltation fortunately ascending, in a clear and white stone, whose figure was a man crowned, cloathed with garments of a Saffron Colour, riding upon an Eagle or Dragon, having in his right hand a dart, about as it were to strike it into the head of the same Eagle or Dragon. They made also another Image of Jupiter at the same convenient season, in a white and clear stone, especially in Crystall, and it was a naked man crowned, having both his hands joyned together and lifted up, as it were deprecating something, sitting in a four-footed chair, which is carried by four winged boys, and they affirm that this Image encreaseth felicity, riches, honor, and conferreth Benevolence and prosperity, and freeth from enemies; They made also another Image of Jupiter for a religious and glorious life, and advancement of fortune; whose figure was a man having the head of a Lyon [lion], or a Ram, and Eagles feet, cloathed in Saffron coloured cloathes, and he was called the son of Jupiter.

Classical Astrology Data at bottom

IN THE CHART

Known as the Greater Benefic, Jupiter has a positive, expansive effect. But remember, it will expand both good and bad. Jupiter rules the law and moral authority, and our attitude to these issues. It brings a strong desire for understanding and the tendency to have powerful opinions and convictions.

When favorably aspected, Jupiter shows one’s tendency to benevolence and jovial disposition. These natives are courteous, refined, law abiding, and honorable. When adversely aspected, it denotes lawlessness, self-indulgence, carelessness in meeting obligations, and gluttony which results in ill-health.

How Jupiter will manifest its energy depends on the horoscope as a whole. The Sign, House, and the Aspects to the other planets will all have a bearing on any interpretation.

In general, the Zodiac Sign Jupiter is in, shows cultural influences and social drives for expansion and improvement. It is an indicator of one’s faith and confidence, showing the areas where one will find opportunity, growth and fulfillment. It may also relate to those in authority from whom you can expect some assistance. A well placed Jupiter should not be mistaken as a sign for material prosperity. Rather, it is associated with the spiritual, philosophical and intellectual realms. An overstress on the function of Jupiter may lead to exaggeration, delusions of grandeur, and a depletion of energies through over-extension. An afflicted Jupiter can manifest as scepticism, pessimism, feelings of inadequacy, depression, and lethargy.

The Astrological House Jupiter is in shows where there will be good fortune and expansion, and where you can grow in understanding in your personal life. This area will generally be very fortunate for you.

The aspects Jupiter makes shows a psychological identity characteristic where the need for expansion, influence and understanding is paramount. These aspects show the specific personal drives where the search for wisdom is most intense.

When Jupiter is being emphasized by dynamic astrology, there are going to be changes to your worldview. What you are learning, what you are mastering, what you believe in are all areas that can be affected. Jupiter is the energy of expansiveness, whether you like it or not. It takes joy in the big picture and will influence life by the desire to expand the individual’s world. The outward effect of this can be to bring study (mental expansion) or travel (physical expansion of the worldview) into your life. If it is impossible for the world to expand due to the life circumstance, then Jupiter will simply change the life circumstance so that an expansion can occur. This may not be a joyful event.

In addition, it would seem that people with a strong natal Jupiter (or who have a large dollop of Sagittarius in the chart) find that transits from or progressions to Jupiter are too excessive, leading to obsessive, manic types of overreactions which generally leave them exhausted at the end of the period.

MEDICAL JUPITER

Medically, Jupiter rules the liver, the largest and main organ for balance and detoxification, reception of the intestinal portal circulation, and control of fat utilization. Thus, Jupiter rules fat metabolism. It rules the arterial blood, and the functions of digestive assimilation, especially in regards to the liver. Jupiter also rules the adrenals and the storage of glycogen, and thus has influence over the stamina and muscular power. The placement of Jupiter points to those herbs and dietetics that will best suit the native for detoxification and periodic cleansing of the bowels and thus the liver.

Although Jupiter by nature is benefic, it has a malefic influence when in hard aspect to the Sun, Moon or Ascendant, and in the sixth house. Most of its maladies are accentuated by indiscretions (over-doing) in diet leading to blood disorders, toxicity, and fatty accumulations.

PATHOLOGICAL TENDENCIES: Obesity, toxicity, hypertension, abdominal fullness, diseases from "high living", stroke, hemorrhagic diseases, jaundice.

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY: Liver functions, especially detoxification and glycogen storage, production of urea and bile; fat metabolism; blood and arterial system; growth hormone.

DEATH in CLASSICAL INTERPRETATION

Jupiter causes death through strangulation, pneumonia, apoplexy, spasms, headaches, and cardiac affections, and such conditions as are accompanied by irregularity of foulness of breath. … Thus, then, those who depart from life in the way described die natural deaths, whenever the lords of death happen to be in their own or in kindred natural characters, and if no planet that is able to do injury to make the end more remarkable overcomes them. They die, however, by violent and conspicuous means whenever both the evil planets dominate the destructive places, either in conjunction, or in quartile, or in opposition, or also if one of the two, or both, seize upon the sun, or the moon, or both the luminaries.
Ptolemy Tetrabiblos (2nd century CE)

Manners when badly placed:

When Jupiter is unfortunate, then he wastes his patrimony, suffers every one to cozen him, is hypocritically religious, tenacious, and stiff in maintaining false tenets in religion; he is ignorant, careless, nothing delightful in the love of his friends; of a gross, dull capacity, schismatical, abasing himself in all companies, crouching and stooping where no necessity is.

Jupiter = 34 / 136

“It is affirmed by Magicians, that there are certain tables of numbers distributed to the seven planets, which they call the sacred tables of the planets, …

The second is called the table of Jupiter, which consists of a Quaternian drawn into it self [i.e. 4 times 4], containing sixteen particular numbers, and in every line, and Diameter four, making thirty four. Now the Sum of all is 136. And there are over it divine names with an Intelligence to good, with a spirit to bad, and out of it is drawn the Character of Jupiter, and the spirits thereof. They say that if it be impressed upon a Silver plate with Jupiter being powerfull, and ruling, it conduceth to gain, and riches, favor, and love, peace, and concord, and to appease enemies, to confirm honors, dignities, and counsels, and dissolve enchantments if it be engraven on a corall.

Mutable Signs

Mutable Signs

Mutable signs are concerned with changing things or moving onto something new because of boredom. The emphasis is on adaptability in the sense that while the fixed signs resist change, the mutable signs accept it — to the point of lacking a fixity of purpose and picking a path. These natives possess a versatility, communication ability, are accommodating, subtle, smpathetic, but also crafty, deceptive, inconstant, undependable.

These signs are the closing month of each season – a time to complete one’s work while preparing for the changes to come (new season).

Common Signes are constitutes between moveable and fixed, and retain a property or nature, pertaking both with the preceding and consequent Sign: and they are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces. They are called By-corporeal or double bodied, because they represent two Bodies: as Gemini two Twinnes, Pisces two Fishes.

— William Lilly, Christian Astrology (1647)

Double Bodied – The others are called double bodied, and they are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces,
for they are at the end of one element and connected with the next one."

—Avraham Ibn Eza (1092-1167 C.E), The Book of Reasons

HOUSES: The Cadent Houses (3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th) correspond to the Mutable Signs. They do not show power or stability, but are adaptable and get along with others. These are the Mental houses.

GEMINI (Mutable Air)

Keywords are communications, talking, writing, gathering info, traveling (short trips), multitasking. Indeed, Gemini is the only sign that can do two things at the same time and get away with it. If you want to locate something fast, get a Gemini to find it for you…unless, of course, something else distracts them!

VIRGO (Mutable Earth)

Keywords are details, work, details, criticism, microscopes-for-eyes, details. Virgos make great workers and fantastic critics – though sometimes nit-picking like: (Captain Kirk: "Mr. Spock, Isn’t it true that when an impulse engine is overloaded, it explodes with a force of 10 megatons?" Spock: "No captain, 10.13756 megatons.").

SAGITTARIUS (Mutable Fire)

Keywords are, philosophy, jovial, long-distance travel, religion (belief systems), higher learning, story-telling. Sagittarius Sun-Signs seem to follow the adage: Open mouth, insert foot! They tend to blurt out whatever they are thinking. Being Jupiter-ruled, the Greater Benefic, they are considered to be lucky.

PISCES (Mutable Water)

Keywords are imagination, dreams, illusions, substance abuse, dancing, other-worldly, escapism from the real world. Remember Isaac Newton, the Capricorn who said that the Universe runs like a clock? Well who else but a Pisces like Einstein would say that "space warps"? This is the only sign that can be alone in a crowded room. A spacey, far-away look is a dead giveaway that the person has strong placements in Pisces OR has the ruling planet, Neptune, strongly placed.

The Water Element

posted by admin

The Water Triplicity is represented by the lymphatic temperament exhibiting as languid, anemic, pallid, weak-pulsed, lack of red corpuscles in the blood, and deficient vascular action.

The water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) are known as emotional, plastic, contemplative. They tend to feel things very deeply and function from an emotional level whether that be in a positive or negative manner.

These are the emotional signs, those capable of exercising compassion, feeling love (and hate), and expressing affection. By their sensitivity they moderate the ideas of air, the unimaginative practicality of earth and the careless energy of fire. With their imagination and dreams they provide human life
with its religious and mystical spirituality.

Related HOUSES : The 4th (end of physical body), 8th (death & liberation of soul), & 12th (results of our choices) houses are naturally ruled by Water signs and are considered the Houses of Endings or the Terminal Houses. Many planets in these houses describes someone who is emotional, sensitive, spiritual.

Keywords: addictive, artistic, broody, caring, compassionate, controlling, destructive, dreamy, easy-going, emotional, feeling, grasping, healing, hoarding, intuitive, kind, lacking in standards or morals, moody, over-emotional, protective, receptive, revengeful, sacrificial, sensitive, smothering, spiritual, supportive, sympathetic, untidy.

In Medical Astrology and Astro-Meteorology the Water element is of the humour Phlegmatic, being cold and moist. Planets that are such are Moon and Venus.

CANCER: Cardinal Water

Cancer: In the Zodiac, it follows the air sign, Gemini. Gemini is like a toddler whose attention can be easily distracted, flitting from thing to thing. Cardinal Cancer is like a toddler who grabs on to something, won’t let go, and throws a tantrum when mommy or daddy tries to take it away. And the Cancer mood swings are legendary.

Let me give you a few tips about dealing with those who have the sign of Cancer strong in their horoscopes (the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Cancer). In this case, you can include those who have the Moon within six degrees of the Ascendant as well.

Cancer men who travel are known for setting up comfortable places they tend to revisit – like a girl in every port. All kidding aside, Cancerians need that security.

The house with the sign of Cancer on the cusp shows one of the places in or lives where we can be loving and nurturing, protecting the helpless (including animals). On the negative side, it can show where we can be moody and irrationally needy. This is the area of our lives where, if we can’t get our way, we tend to retreat while grasping and holding onto anything that gives us the illusion of security.

The other area of our lives where we can act like this is shown by the house occupied by the ruler of the sign of Cancer, the Moon.

SCORPIO: Fixed Water

Scorpio: This is the sign of extremes, all or nothing. It follows the air sign Libra, sign of balance. To understand Scorpio, read the novels of Dostoyevsky, who was a Fixed Scorpio Sun-Sign, and examine the characters closely.

The house that has Scorpio at the cusp is one of the places in your life where you have the greatest potential for major Good or Evil. Power is the keyword of Scorpio / Pluto and one may be driven by compulsive “subconscious forces”.

All of the fixed signs tend to be stubborn and unyielding. Taurus is that way out of sheer inertia. Like a large boulder, once it starts moving, it simply can’t stop. Leo stands firm out of pride.  Aquarius, an Air sign, refuses to budge without a logical reason. With Scorpio, it is pure emotional intensity, the kind that can rise up when one is involved in a fight to the death.

Scorpio is super secretive. Don’t ever try to pry any personal information out of a Scorpio. You have to let them coem to you in their own time. This sign is the best natural born detective in the zodiac. If you want to know the dirt about someone, find a Scorpio Sun-Sign person who knows them.

PISCES: Mutable Water

Pisces: Pisces can be the most agreeable sign in the zodiac, mainly because they hate confrontation. People with a strong Pisces emphasis in their horoscopes seem to agree with almost anyone. If, a few minutes later, they happen to talk to someone with the opposite opinion, they will agree with them too. Then, they go off and something completely different from both. Deep down inside, Mutable Pisces doesn’t want to upset people. In fact, if you complain to a Pisces about trouble you are having with someone they don’t even know, they will start making excuses for that other person. They feel compassion for someone they never met.

Let me emphasize again that this refers only to the influence of this one sign. When doing a horoscope, you have to take the entire chart into account, and there are a myriad of other factors to consider besides the Sun-Sign. Richard Ramirez and John Wayne Gacy, both infamous serial killers were Pisces Sun-Signs, and they showed little compassion for their victims.

The House with Pisces on the cusp will be one of the places in your horoscope where you can be your most tolerant and compassionate, as well as your most imaginative, deluded, or even escapist. Pisces/Neptune can be self-destructive and refuse to deal with reality. The other place to watch for these things is the house where your planet Neptune is located.

CLASSICAL RULERSHIPS (traditional astrology)

This set of signs is ruled by Mars by day and also by night. Considered cold and moist.

Finally, the Cancer triplicity is nocturnal, comprising Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. The rulers of these signs are the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter, but because Jupiter is diurnal it is substituted for nocturnal Venus.

Aries trigon – Sun, Jupiter, Saturn
Cancer trigon – Venus, Mars, Moon
Libra trigon – Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter
Capricorn trigon – Venus, Moon, Mars

Most early astrologers used all three planets, rotating their priority by day and night, but many later ones, including Lilly, chose to use only the principal rulers. Perhaps they rejected the convoluted logic that lay behind the definition of sect, or perhaps they were confused by Ptolemy who only mentions two rulers for the Aries and Capricorn triplicities, yet mentions three rulers for the others!
